From Search to Synthesis: Visibility in an Answer-Based Internet
Pre-stay visibility in 2026 rests on three things: content that earns a citation in an AI answer, a data layer that lets a hotel describe itself accurately to a model, and a vendor stack that lets an agent act on what it finds. Treating this as an SEO problem with new vocabulary solves a fraction of the first and none of the other two.

The vendor layer keeps winning in hotel agentic commerce
Every agentic commerce standard aimed at hotels stalls on the same point: most hotels don't control their own booking flow or guest data, both of which sit inside vendor systems. A hotel that owns a first-party data layer can connect to any protocol without rebuilding. A hotel that rents its stack waits for a vendor and loses the booking to an OTA in the meantime.
